Loneliness

There's loneliness around me

that's constantly there.

And the one thing I wish

is that it would disappear.

I miss all of the visitors

and pictures to mount.

I wish people would come,

too many to count.

Tell me what I should say

and what I should do,

to convey my message

secretly to you.

I love sharing stories

and secrets from my past.

I love seeing smiles

that are able to last.

But if only one day,

someone would understand,

that I need a smile

and a helping hand.

To get me through my hour,

to get me through my day.

To take my loneliness and sorrows

and put them all away.
