Rain

Rain

A Poem by KamalTrivedi

The rumbling of thunder
up in the sky.
So loud and unexplainable,
I hear its cry.

Like God's fist pounding,
upon a large table.
As if something were happening,
and he wasn't able.

Streaks of long lightening
filling the sky,
one cloud to another,
just like eye to eye.

Trees swaying back and forth
while it rains all around.
Pouring and pouring
getting soaked underground.

The steamy grey sky
and the mist all around.
Rain blowing my way,
making the whole world frown.

What a different feeling
which can't be explained.
Only seen and felt,
with not a drop of pain.

A cold yet warm feeling,
as if something's coming your way.
Not a second nor a minute
could change this gloomy day.

Hearing rings of chimes
with some fear in your heart.
Not a sound nor a soul
but rain from the start.

Little droplets of everything
combined into one.
From drizzles to pouring,
to the hide-away sun.

Thoughts filling your head
of things you never thought.
Remembering the past,
and the deep things you were taught.

You feel so confused,
as if what's going on.
No explanation
just your feelings are strong.

Slowly and slowly,
it changes the sky.
From color to color,
passing you by.

The imagery is great and the only thing I can really say is the consistent rhyming and meter gets old throughout this long of a poem. That is the tricky part about writing, rhyming is the easiest way to get a flow, however in a long poem it can get monotonous. It something you can play with the longer you write. Other than that keep up the great work!
