Being different

Being different

A Chapter by Indigomoon

Growing up with allergies is always tough being a kid. Your friends get to do things you can't. My allergies were with cats and products like make up and perfumes, jewelry as well I had to be careful.
One Christmas my grandmother, gave me a box full of earrings I was only seven. I was so happy I quickly picked out the earring I wanted I got out a pair of dolphin earrings and put them in. Four hours later I felt my ears oozing and I touched them they were puffy; so I went to my mother who looked at my ears and let out a yell to my step dad to get a wet rag.

I then had to have my mom use tweezers to pull out the backs. I laid there upset because my ears were sore but healing; my grandmother yet took back the box and apologized to me. I was more upset because I really wanted to wear my earrings.
The next incident that happened I was 10 it was when a girl in my class sprayed perfume on my wrist. The perfume smelled like apples, when I got home I was scratching my wrist and my mother asked me why I showed her the rash of red bumps.

My mom gave me some Benadryl cream to put on me after I showered. I was then told to never do that again, I was disappointed because I liked the smell of the perfume.
