God's Call

A poem I wrote years ago about the Lord being there for me when no one else was

Distracting myself 
by singing this sad song, 
Trying to convince myself 
That someday I'll belong.

These voices I'm hearing 
Don't really exist. 
My heart is filled with lies, 
And my eyes with mist.

Faking this smile, 
And holding back this tear. 
Trying to hide my inner self, 
So filled with fear.

 
And then He calls, 
Such a great friend. 
Here I am, so incredibly happy. 
God has saved me yet again.

God never gives us more then we can handle, but he is always waiting in the wind, for a whisper from a heart. A boulder of strength we find none in ourselves. Beautiful writing.

I can really relate to this. I am always in this constant battle about how to reconnect with God. I know in my darkest moments it is him who I need, but sometimes its so hard to surrender. Great job!

I agree that it is difficult to surrender in one's darkest moments, but that is when we need to surrender the most! God is faithful and God is good. I hope that eventually, reconnecting with God will no longer be a battle for you. Thanks again for the review!

Psalm 40 is a great verse to read, talking about this subject too :)
