The Difficulties of DilemmasA Poem by KathrynQuite odd, don't you agree?I watch the scissors cut away the dead ends And I feel myself getting lighter. I see my face change in the mirror And I smile in delight. I muse, a simple solution to a difficult dilemma. Just like the saying "When in Roam"- Or perhaps it is Rome? Either way, I am roaming in this pile of uncertainty Parked next to a playground out on Highway 21. Minutes later, I am sitting on your bed noticing how Your eyes are squinting to see the future And your preoccupied smile means There will be wet dreams tonight. Next thing I know, I am holding a boarding pass Waiting on a plane to take me away from this boredom. I hear the gate number being called and I board the plane holding all my baggage. I never leave my baggage with the front desk. So when I check into my hotel, I take the elevator up to the tenth floor and I find That when I open the room, you are sitting on my bed Right where my pillow mint should be. Then scenes change and seasons change and Now I am holding the hand of a man in a black tuxedo. We are talking about sickness and health And suddenly I hear myself say, "I do." And I'm not even the Bride. Quite odd, don't you agree? © 2009 KathrynFeatured Review
