I like the flatness of this. The compactness. It's very straight-forward -- reads to me almost from the place you get to after a break up when you're just too exhausted to feel anything. You won't forgive, but you're not mad. You just know it's over, for whatever reason, and want to sleep for 6 years.

Exactly! It just came to me the other day. Loud and clear. Startlingly so. I tried to dig around and see if I could come up with more. And I just kept coming back to "No. This is it. This is all there is." It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes: "someday I will find the right words and they will be simple."

This is pretty great. Some people never consider the consequences of breaking a heart. Usually, the consequence is having their own heart broken. Nicely done.
