The Hunt



Stars watch

As the cat stalks

Her pray

On silent feet

She runs

Her eyes see

Nose smells

Things invisible

To me


Moon shadows hide

The mouse

In life and death flight

All have secrets

this night

I'm just one more shadow

Slinking down the street

 

The cat pounces

A muzzle flashes

A body falls

The shadows dash away


None see the truth

But the ever watchful stars

The silent moon

Tells no tails


Yet another successful hunt
