Traded for a Weed
A Poem by Kay
Memory of a wound I'd sewn shut - the reminder is enough to make scarred sealants bleed; when I gave you a gift, cautiously, my trust was meant to carry the weight of your world, some planet of cruelty. How do you hold a rose and trade it for a weed molded in dust and rotten temptation, a voice coated in playful silk, blanketing thorns of desperation? Destructive to my carefully constructed story, luring you, weak-minded fool, into a cavern where you betray me, mask your sinful stains, and preach an expired love.
