Gloominess

I wobbled down the streets,
On the way of gloominess.
My mind wandered in zeal,
But couldn't find a rest.
Time by time I waned,
And struggled with hopelessness.
While my eyes was tainted,
With some blinding darkness

I smile at my pain,
And kept walking my way.
Hoping that someday,
My life will make a change.
I walked but never stop,
Though felt I'm ever stuck,
But eagerly my mind await,
Waiting for light to come.

After falling a million times,
I learned to walk blindingly,
Striving without a might,
I felt I'm getting energy.
So sooner than later,
I saw a door through the darkness,
A door that leads to light,
Light at the end of the tunnel.

This is just an Imaginary life that I think we can learn from.

A lovely poem Kay of perseverance through difficulty. Through all the gloom you stuck there with it, in the hope that eventually you would see some light and eventually you were rewarded. Nicely composed and will be relatable to readers. All good wishes.

Sometimes a long poem about gloominess can be a drudge to read, but this one has two things that keep it from feeling heavy. First, the narrator is not only depicting the gloom he/she feels, but also this is a message about persevering . . . picking oneself up over & over, if that's what it takes . . . & many times it does take many attempts before we pull ourselves from the rut. Secondly, I love that this ends on a note of success . . . at least for the moment, a reprieve from the gloom (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

What a juxtaposition of feelings to sense that you are stuck yet somehow never staying still. There is a feeling of sheer exhaustion and fatigue in the first verse. I was so happy to see the light at the end of the tunnel, that eventually our protagonist sees a path. I enjoyed this piece.
