my heart is broken
bruised and bleeding
it amazes me that
it is still beating

i have to say
goodbye even tho
it makes me cry
i feel like i could die

time is what you need
time i'm not sure i can give
time is what is killing me
i have nothing left to give

the sun was shining on me
the storm clouds chased it away
now all i have are the memories
oh God why couldn't you stay?

the warmth of your body next to me
your arms holding me so tight
now knowing that it will no longer be
makes me dread the night
