Simplicity

Simplicity

A Poem by Kelley Quinn

The tears fall so aimlessly.

Silent.

Protected.

Like they hold a secret.

The secret of my life.

In one.

Single.

Teardrop.

I don’t know whether I should

Scream.

Or cry.

I wish I could do both.

Why can’t problems just

Disappear?

Like snowflakes.

They come.

And stay.

For a short while.

Then they just

Melt.

Come again.

I wish I could make myself

Not cry.

But then what would I do

When im sad?

Maybe then

I would scream.

That would surely be a sight.

I cry for all my emotions.

As silly as that sounds.

But when I am in shock,

I don’t cry.

I normally let these

Tears fall

For no reason at all

Just because the feeling of it

Releases tension.

And I like it.

Tears

Make the face

Red.

Raw.

Ugly.

But the ability to let oneself

Go.

To cry.

Makes every human being.

Beautiful.
