A little something I wrote while working in a little diner here at home.. before I was forced to find another job when it closed.

I LIKE IT THAT WAY!

 

A little silly something I wrote, I hope you enjoy, and maybe get a chuckle or two.

                                   I Like It That Way

I work in a diner,

Nothing could be finer,

I like what I do.

Can I get something for you?

I smile real sweet,

Would you like a treat?

Maybe some Pie-a-la-mode.

The coffee isn't cold.

We like to keep it hot

I'm Johnny on the spot.

 

If I only had my way,

I would cook for you all day,

I would cook for everyone,

As ordered your steak would be done.

Your omelettes would be tasty,

Your homefries golden, crispy,

How about gravy on that?

A couple eggs I could crack.

The bacon would be yummy,

Would you like some in your tummy?

 

I like to see you here,

I think I have made that clear.

No matter what I do,

I will smile for you

Come in, come in join the fun,

There's a table in the sun.

So whether I'm cooking it hot'

or bringing the coffee pot,

The people make my day,

And I like it that way...
