My Baptism

This story is about me going to a back to school event that I attended and when the event was almost over I got baptized.

In the year of 2015 I remember attending a back to school party at a church called Oneness Pentecostal Tabernacle. It was alot of fun there it was music, face painting, food, arts and crafts and games. I had alot more fun inside the bouncy house jumping up and down screaming with the other kids. There also was a dancing contest that one of the church members put together and whoever was to win this contest they would get a free ice cream from the Mr Softee truck. Some of the brothers and sisters including myself danced to this song featured by Michelle Williams called "Yes. Afterwards, one of the church members announced the winner for the contest and it turned out another sister was the winner. So we all clapped and congratulated her as well. From then on, food was being served they had jerk chicken, peas and rice, bread, burgers and corn on a cobb as well. This food tasted so good that I asked for a second plate. Furthermore, one of the ministers grabbed the mic and greeted everyone and asked them "If they are having a good time and they shouted a big yes. The minister thanked everyone for coming out to support and those that gave donations for school supplies. He also prayed for the community and neighborhoods as well. The minister preached a message about Giving Your life to God. He spoke about the steps to accept Jesus as Lord and savior, reading the Bible, seeking a relationship with him, surrendering your will and life to God's guidance. He also said too much stuff is going on in the world for us not to give our life to God,how young children are dying at a young age. So he was led by God to ask anyone "If they would like to give their life to Jesus and be baptized as well. So far I was the only one who raised my hand and wanted to get baptized. As I came up to the front he directed me to one of the other leaders to go inside the church for me to get baptized. Before I got baptized I had to do a prayer confession of sins and declare that Jesus is Lord. As I came out of the water I felt like a whole new creature again. After that was over, one of the leaders gave me a baptism certificate and gave me a hug as well.she told me that giving my life to God was the best decision I made. So I went home feeling peaceful.
