Dusk II

Dusk II

A Poem by Ken e Bujold
"

after last night's setting sun

"
Eve’s bloom, tequila sun slide
to rustling sheets, sigh
of thighs, the day’s terminus,

denouement to tide’s lapping
erasure of urgency --
comic opera

of expectancy, life’s load
being shucked from mind.
Salt, jigger, and lime.

Sounds like the perfect way to end a day to me. Everything about this is romantic and beautiful. A nicely rafted poetic cocktail my friend.

a really interesting separation of what are in essence prepositional phrases that lead to the fundament in the last line, a glorious bonfire of elisions.

I too was taken with your opening line. A glorious introduction Ken. Cocktails at sunset and afterwards, rustling sheets Way to end the day. Muchly enjoyed.

I particularly loved this opening line
‘Eve’s bloom, tequila sun slide’

And the end verse here

of expectancy, life’s load
being shucked from mind.
Salt, jigger, and lime.

The middle verse is great as well leaves not much to ones Imagination !
I love the whole poem
That’s what I’m saying !

Could it be a Margarita that has you relaxing at day's end
or can you tell that I don't drink
