For Daisy

I wrote this some years ago, in a fit of emotion for a pet that died of natural causes.

Life is new begun,
Wonder in your eyes,
Curiosity in your newborn walk,
You see with eyes unclouded.
Time for you has been lonely,
So large the world to you,
The people around you,
The parents that abandoned you.
Your life so short,
Bittersweet moments,
Loving everything,
Only to have it ripped away.
You go now,
To a place we cannot see,
To join your brethren,
And continue your journey.
Peace be with you,
Little one,
For you shall be in our thoughts,
Our hearts shall carry you,
Always.
