 -=Three lighters=-

Why three lighters do I keep… when I have only one cigarette to smoke

Does it burn inside me that much … if only fire of them can talk

I use them to turn it to ashes … I mean ashen my pain

From ashes still it arouse … Phoenix is my vain

Three lighters next to my bed… is that a hunger to smoke

Three lighters are in my head … if only those lighters can talk

Mock me not for my lighters … as we all have three

One is new not even used, one is half full … and the last became gas free

Made of silver is the empty one as it became my past

Other two are delicate present and future.. how long may they last

'Why three lighters do I keep', thats was one nice, old-fashioned twist of word order while refering to contemporary materials.

'From ashes still it arouse … Phoenix is my vain'
-Pain does not just disappear, it burns and is reserructed upon remembering.

Personally, I love the light of a lighter in the night. The way it slowly brings life to the tip of a tobacco roll. A very interesting read about hurt and overcoming. Keep it up.

Great poem, more like a shortened story that is twisted and covered with your words :O :) I like the very last line :) It makes me wonder, you can never play with fire and never once get burned :)

I enjoyed this. It was enigmatic, and while outwardly simple it seemed to ponder profound truths... I like the symbolism, it's cryptic enough that the answer isn't immediately obvious. Well done.

I like the logic in the poem. Could to have poetry that open the doors to questions that don't have answers. I like the story in the poem and the very good ending to the outstanding poem.
