SurroundedA Chapter by Alex Vidmar
They're all around this hovel,
My only weapon, a beat-up shovel. Adrenaline rushing, veins pulsing, I close my eyes and sing. I sing the song my daughters loved, And the song to which my wife and I were wed. They are all sick with this diabolical killer. After I killed them, they were buried under a fiery pillar. I kiss my wedding band and the necklaces my Daughters made for me. Take a deep breath, calm my nerves. I drop my weapon and to the heavens my eyes curve. The doorknob, I turn; they pour on in. And their teeth tear away at my bare skin. I just smile and think, with tears in my eyes. "I'm coming girls, wait for me at the gates, and tell mommy I say, 'Hi.'" © 2012 Alex VidmarFeatured Review
