the flute and the bard

the flute and the bard

A Story by KItsuko Dragonstar
"

a love story following a kitsune who's lost her way.

"
long long ago, There once lived a little fox girl.
Her voice was elegant like her dance-like movements,
her voice reaching the hearts of the broken and lost,
she wrote and sang countless songs,
many now lost to time.

when she cried she was shunned,
laughed at and mocked by those around,
her tears flooding her face to sting her,
her life then was nothing but a one-sided show,
now what's left was nothing but a shell,
a shell of someone truly special.

the fox women now travels now world to world,
with flute in hand and wondered with a drained smile
hidden under a hood and walking aimlessly.

until the day she met this poor bard,
poor but humbled and treasured by her audience,
"MY NAME IS ERIKA PIPER" the spoke proudly.
the bard sang as the foxes ears perked up
peeking in to see the stage in the cafe through a window,
the bard waved and smiled as she saw the woman outside,

As someone who has a soft spot for foxes and kitsune alike, my interest was peaked when I saw the description of this small story. There are a few parts that sound like literary hiccups, like:

"The fox women[woman?] now travels now world to world."

Also, "Wondered with a drained smile" somewhat confused me. Was it meant to be *wandered* with a drained smile, perhaps?

Aside from a few minor details, this looks like the start of an adorable story about friendship. Perhaps these two characters could bond with music? This really does seem like an interesting concept for a story. Just flesh it out a little, and give the characters their own autonomy and personality. I see a lot of potential in a story like this. Perhaps a few pages of paced interactions, weaving together a lighthearted and playful narrative. Either way, props to you for sharing your writing and putting it out there.

Have a good one,
-Kane
