Welcoming Pain In

Have you ever wondered
where all the pain goes?

Where does it reside
when it goes on by
and when it's here why
does she make you cry?

Couldn't pain be nicer
so we could welcome her
in, like you would with any
of your friends

I will wait for that day when
pain has a new name

Why does pain give me
so much shame that I
soon bottle deep inside

I look at the things I did
or could have done and pain
comes lurking in and it's a hit
and run
