Running from Eternity

Running from Eternity

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

It is difficult to like this future
if it is the memento
you gave me
on the first anniversary of my death.

We are waiting for the moment
when time will finally get tired
and let the second hand rest.

The hour is running from eternity,
your pain is so sweet
it fills your whole heart.
Filled with black light,
I cannot get enough of bread and wine.

I am afraid of your reflection
in my mirror.
I am afraid of a life
that will end miserably as always.

Addicted to silence, I hug
our dreams.
Condemned to dawn, I kneel before
your pedestal.

Here - right now - it is still morning. I've got coffee and thoughts. It isn't about the entertainment value of what I see, it IS about the people expressing what they FEEL at a particular moment and express in the wavy scribbles that make up our recognition as thoughts. I listen because... I can and care. Why? am just me being the me that I am.

The world is seldom fair... but dreams transcend fairness. Could be's are our armor of hope against the realities we always seem to deal with. Damn, my eyes are full of steam...

I see this more as a figurative death, maybe of the heart.
When finally gets tired, perhaps the pain will end...but as long as eternity continues, hurt will make a life end miserably when the death is literal.
I really like the last stanza...
this is amazing writing...it is almost like being afraid to see God in the mirror, because the speaker will know it is the end.

Lord! Dark and disturbing. Something haunting in it, too. A soul raw from trials I can't begin to imagine.

Hello to you in Poland!!
I am in Spain..
There are so many parts of your poem I love..
"Addicted to silence I hug our dreams.."
This sentence makes me want to cry..
I would love to know your thoughts when you wrote this as there are parts I can not figure out..
Not that it matters..but I am interested.
I can feel that there is something going on..
