To See You in My MirrorA Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska![]() I try to trick the pain with thoughts of the locked doors of paradise. I'd like to see you in my mirror for once. I do not understand human language, I was born to cry out for your tears. The fantasy that remains in me after yesterday morning still burns in the silence of your arms. I don't know if I have enough hope to find you in the singing crowd. Again, I hug my cheek against the empty, cold pillow that will never soak up our mutual wishes. I cannot die as long as I feel the warmth of your hands caress my senses. Before pleading guilty, teach my dreams to go away without complaint. I bow the stone of my head, hoping that you will lend me just one sigh, a single moment of solitude. Teach me to dream when everyone doubts the sky at their feet. Newborn time asks for a resurrected conscience.
