The Black Breath

The Black Breath

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

It is not worth

trusting memories

that try to break a window

into your love thoughts.

I would like to revive lost delusions.

I look again in the mirror

of a roadside puddle,

my black and white meadows

wake up

among impassable roads.

Silence is a stain

on my chained lips.

Come back before the final scar

breaks.

I've been trapped in my own

embrace for too long.

Shrouded in a black breath

of winter wind,

I seek a cause for my hope,

I need to shake off this losing game.

Before I keep light

from the shadow, fall in love

with my sin.

and isn't it interesting - the comment I gave to your review of my last poem matches all you have written here (well, that is my interpretation) all to easily we get caught in thought which steers the direction of our emotional state - ah, if only we can just look away, take a breath, allow our thoughts to settle elsewhere and then we too can find a new light :) Nice one!

What I feel here is one of the deepest kind of emptiness, and emptiness is not fun or joke. I always say it's better to feel pain than feel nothing. at one point, it feels as if You've gained your power again moving on, at another it feels not. it's like You already decided to make a change though inside You are feeling it's a wrong one, waiting for him to give You the glimpse to either stop it or continue. You write from your wide depths and it's felt through your lines. All the best my friend.
