The First Summer Rain

The First Summer Rain

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I was born on the side of light.
I have woven your lost smile
from cobwebs, I have absolved
your orphaned night.

Wait for me to resurrect
the first summer rain in us,
until my pain becomes
a cursed mystery.

I'll wake up to your thoughts
I didn't deserve.
I wanted to dream
of a more beautiful lips,
but your smile does not match
the melancholy of today.

Stripped naked from the body,
I am looking for tears
that will ease the fear of the soul.
And there will be no silence
within us that will cast a shadow
on our comfortable consciences.
