Wings Of SilkA Poem by Anaisa
You gave me wings of gossamer silk and expected me to fly. And fly I tried. Entranced by the myriad of colours and delicate threads, I felt. I fell into an abyss of anguish and pain. My wings too light, too small, too feeble... And eagerly I spread them and rapidly I failed.
You gave me a fool's strength, a fool's mission, a fool's fate. Straight down down down I fell. And my pretty, gauzy, useless wings did nothing to break my fall... Fragmented in to a thousand tiny little pieces with bits of silk and salty tears, here I lay fallen. You gave me wings of gossamer silk and expected me to fly and fly I tried. I felt. I fell. I failed. © 2018 AnaisaAuthor's Note
