Cadence Of His Heartbeat

Cadence Of His Heartbeat

A Poem by Kristan A. Mohammed
"

Writing is, to me, what the heart is to the body.

"
There is no possible way for me to explain my passion for writing.
This is the closest I've ever come to self-realization.

The taste of success at the tip of his tongue,
Sweet like ambrosia.
Feeding the contingent fires,
Empowering the maelstrom of emotions within.

The melodious sound of his passion,
Beating in his chest.
Rhyming like profound poetry,
Of impervious reverie.

An affinity for words,
And a love for works of art.
Ignites the engines of creation,
Pray they don't overheat.

Did your love begin in Genesis?
Where it all started.
And will you still write in Revelation?
At the end.

Nothing sounds better,
Than that one note on repeat.
That monotonous poetry,
In the cadence of his heartbeat.

I'm freaking in love with the last stanza. It's so true! I mean, I know my poetry isn't spectacular, but sometimes I could just read something I've written over and over again because it's mine, a physical manifestation of the inner me.
This is a wonderful poem! Loved it!

I adore the way you write
Rare is it to find a poet so bright
Painting pictures with words on a canvass so white
Touching our hearts and sharing your light

=]

(I always wanted to leave an ad-libbed poem for someone in their review section but I didn't know if it would come off cheesy, lol. Then I saw the reviewer below me make a rhyme and said "ah, why the hell not" lol. So that is for you. Hope you enjoy.)

Welcome a bunch...:).....................
This feeling of poetry as real passion is really so close to all writers (or it should be)..and you express it here is so gentle and sophisticated way. Your words flow like a soft music, the heart of the poetry reveals itself little by little..as a hidden fire. The desire for writing never dies, if you feel that once, you`ll be longing for it again, the same as love. The way you describe it is so intimate and soulful. My favorite lines are:

An affinity for words,
And a love for works of art.
Ignites the engines of creation,
Pray they don't overheat.

(* I like the way you ask questions and put restrictions in your poems)

Wow such a beautiful piece of work here
I see you're speaking of the LORD in just a few words.

This was quite lovely and Elegantly penned.

Thank you for sharing and for your kind review
and comments you left on my page.

I really enjoyed the phrasing in this one.. it is one that many writers can relate to.. it is part of WHO we are.. not something that we choose, it is in our soul.. we breathe poetry.. we think in rhythm... it flows from our soul onto paper.. "in the cadence of heartbeat".. it flows in our veins and drips out in tiny drops of emotion... well done my friend.. I really enjoyed this one.. the font was perfect as well. elegant, thought-provoking, and beautifully written..:)
