Swords of Solace (Safe Haven Part 2:Prologe to Arm's Length)A Poem by Kristan A. MohammedWe all have a need and desire to feel comfortable. to let loose and just be ourselves around a particular someone.Once upon a torn parchment, I melted into the ambiance, Of a careless caress. Of sweet
lechery. Blessed be… And amnesty.
A ghost resides beside me, Sleeping in my bed. A linguistic of the past, Like whispers of my words, Words so lost of meaning. I falter to believe, But see the truth. I hear the silence, Even in its absence.
Happily ever after, In just a thought. Forever is a very long time. No longer than a single heartbeat. Beating echoes of defeat. But no… I’ve found forever. I confided in your eyes. Found philosophy in your smile. A reason to believe again. But found myself… One wish away… From a descending blade. From lusty lips, …Sharp… Like the strings, Of the devil’s harp.
Don’t speak the words, If they aren’t true. Too cruel of a joke, Even for you. I’ve found finality in your deeds. Fatality in your seeds. But never thought to say, “Thank you” © 2016 Kristan A. MohammedAuthor's NoteReviews
