Circus GamesA Poem by Kristen Maewarning: mild language :-)
Green, blue and orange… The colors surround as I search in front. A black door strikes my eyes, Unwilling to stop the rot. She pushes through as I stare in disgust; Hair falling, eyes fading and not a body for hearts. My feet race, pulled to her to go through the room Within the darkness surrounds. Why did I follow her through? To this dimly lit room. Floors bleached which, walls that never could fall, Nothing inside, showing only a bed Upon which rotting old corpse. She goes to his side, crying gently He’s lying with care and as The haggardly lady strokes his hair, My hands fall in front, moving without will. Is it compassion or am I a fool? She steals my voice As she cries her song. Compassion is flowing; it’s been lost for so long. Her knees sink As I fall to the floor, My face becomes one with that dirty old w***e. © 2008 Kristen Mae |
