It's what you interpret

Everything's an illusion, they say

People acting a certain way

Or appear to be so

For it's not just the one by ya side

But the one not - whose sacrifice

Your happiness you owe

A hundred faces you embrace

With a fifty you part

What matters in the end

Is who remains in your heart

What is a person if but a name and not a memory? This poem shows clearly how the ones we care for most need to be the ones we hold closest to our hearts, as memories they flood our thoughts and keep us swimming against the current.
