emotional release

'twas the first time
i really had to try

'twas the first time
the last i let myself cry

'twas the first time
for i really had to try

told myself
tried to console myself
think i tried more than thrice
in a fake soothing voice
"let it go; release
unwind and unfurl
don't let yourself freeze
forget the worries, the world

let the tears spill out
kiss every inch o' your skin
rush down your lonely cheeks
i remember it was once so cold
a face that now can't be consoled"
