Silent bliss I am longing to hold
Your burning arms do not reason
My eyes can no longer distinguish reality
I wished to be freed from this pleasurable prison
Released into an void state of mind
Ordered to restrain all sensation.

At last, I have finally broken away!
Running fast towards the edge of my emancipation
You gave up your chase to stop me
Called off the search, pulled back the dogs
Into the darkness, I slip out of sight.

You were supposed to come with me
We would be freed together, past that line.
You smiled at me but all I saw was pain
As you sounded the alarm to distract the guards

You knew you were too weak to run with me.
My fragility must have scared you
The rawness still palpable as you nurse your memories

Vicariously we will dream together
Apathetically to live we will die alone

I will come back for you.
