Finding Myself Out in the Darkness Alone

Gazing up at the stars has this habit of putting me through an existential crisis, but I quite enjoy it.

Finding myself out in the darkness alone

I can’t help but stare up at my home

The inconceivable universe above I see

And the rock that is earth right below me

Teetering on the abyss’s edge I tread

No particular direction do I really head

Life right now, life even before mine

Life even after my short blink of time

Life rolls forward at an undying speed

Nothing you can do, except let it lead

I am in for a short but beautiful ride

And in the end all I know is that I tried

Tried to make the most out of it all

Trying to keep it from becoming dull
