Dedicated to John Ian Dunlop

Dedicated to John Ian Dunlop

A Poem by Kylie Dunlop-Grigg
"

I wrote this 20 years ago (I was 13) when my grandad died

"
What is the meaning of life,
And what are we to do?
Is it to live then die,
Because that is so true.

We are on this world,
For a very short time.
Then we are punished to death,
But committed no crime.

What did we do,
To deserve this sentence?
Are we a threat to the world,
A burden, a menace?

Death is all around us,
It is something that we fear.
All of sudden it's there,
Without a care.

We live then die,
It is a common fact.
But sometimes it's unexpected,
And you don't know how to act.

What to do,
When a loved one dies?
It is a very sad moment,
And everyone cries.

You ask the question,
"Why did he go this way"
But we will never know that,
Because the answer is far away.
