This is oh so very true. I get them also out of the blue.
First I go and look at their "about me," just to see who they are. Usually I find nothing there. That usually stops me from going further. Or I may read something they've written to see if there is anything I find interesting. If so, I may review. Most times, I will read and not review because I found nothing to interest me.
Obviously, their idea of "friend" is totally different than mine.
(And I would have asked to become your friend after reading this, if we weren't already.)
Fun, accurate, call it like it is write. Good stuff, here.
Could not agree more. And you don't have to review me. Oh you have done albeit by proxy. Witty and pithy.

Laughing all the way to the total! Over the years it's amazing how many people have called in, left invitations but disappeared into space. Then, when they find they're short a few reviews, turn up like like fairy godmothers .. not! I so agree with you, think one has to not only look at the cover but read a few pages of the book too! Its grrrrrreat to have you back, you say it as it is! :)
Awesome!! I am with Micheal on this. I have read your poems "a few" and if I didn't comment on anything, I would expect to find myself not brave enough to "request" your page.... to just fill another spot on your friend list. And for what? lol I WILL be back, because if I am entertained or curious..... why not? I, personally, have not accepted requests, but that is only because I don't wish to offend anyone of my OWN poems and if they just read one or two. Clever poem, LA, and it needed to be said.... even if "sweetly". lol I don't think I've ever written that word before... sweetly. : ) xoxo -Mark

You know what they say. No sense no feeling! I am thick skinned lol
I love the ones where they send you a request and say they've been reading all your work and could I accept their friend request and read and review them.. Um.. really ? You've been reading my work with zero reviews but you want me to sit down and read and review you.. Or you add them.. and never once hear from them again lmao..

Thanks for dropping in and reading my rant of the day. Nice to meet you!
Well, to be perfectly honest, LA, being your friend wasn't my first choice--there was no "Wants to be your lover" button.
Great, tight little piece! (The poem.)
Hello, I'm known as LA or LL. I am a bit of an enigma, but I like it that way. I'm on a bit of a hiatus from the site for now, as life has gotten a little busy, but I shall return.
