Had Enough

Its so hard to decide.

I let down my pride. 

You lingered around day by day 

Taunting me with your smile. 

You looked away when I took a glance.

And left me here in denial.

You made me think you wanted me.

You gave me all the signs. 

Silly me, I fell for them.

Now I'm left with empty lines. 

And I know its my fault

For letting it get this far.

But can you blame me?

Now I know who you really are.

You just gotta gimme time to move along. 

While we are waiting, just listen to this song. 

By the time its done you'll forget my name.

Nothing about me will be the same. 

You brought me up top and took me high

I almost felt like I could fly.

But I guess you got bored so you dropped me, I fell.

Now I leave each day in the reality of hell.

I wish you could see the princess in me

But now cause of you there will never be a we.

I'm diggin the strength and the resolve. I find it ironic how a person can be left behind, purge out all of their emotions, move on...and end up leaving the person who thought they left them behind...holding their photo and feeling depressed. I predict that a kind face is going to inspire some very sad poetry. Kind eyes...very often are a distraction that causes incredible strength to be underestimated.... but theres no lesson like a hard lesson... This poem is sad, but there is strength and a willpower that leave me optimistic for the future.

I liked it a lot. Love poems that have a decent rhyme scheme going on. Shows good discipline, and it didn't read sing songy at all. Very good work here. Keep it up.
