A Story by No one in particular

There exists an inviolable sanctity in beauty; often, I walk upon the streets, aimlessly, my steps dictated by a sequence of sporadic caprices, my senses beguiled by the natural beauty which issues, irrepressibly, from all existent things. I know that life exists solely so that I may distort the world. I am also cognizant of the vanity of truth --rather, the pursuit of the unattainable, objective physicality of the world.

Life is an aggregate of senses, and our senses, merely filters, intermediaries through which the world is translated into something tangible, yet false. We do not share the Earth, merely the essence from which stimulation is derived; each of us exists separately, infinitely distant from one another. I perceive the world as only I am capable of perceiving it --for my sensibilities are distinct and manifested uniquely-- and possess my own conception of reality.

Yet, there exists an inviolable sanctity in beauty. Those who walk upon the same streets as I, at the same time as I, and share with me the same sunset, are aware of the inexpressibility of the emotions this image creates.

You put a lot of thought in the amazing short story. This is the type of story that can open the door to a long and good conversation. I like the above lines. I asked often in my life. What is my purpose? Is my life worthwhile? I agree with the thoughts in the poem. We are all different. Needed more or less. Thank you for sharing the outstanding story. Welcome to W.C.
