The Woven Canvas Of My Heart

The Woven Canvas Of My Heart

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne

The soft woven canvas of my heart weaves its silken memories
in slow trickles of honeyed colored hues
as they magically dance with my naïve heart
restlessly stirring the peeled pages of my mind
~

She wonders ...
if he thinks of her when he's all alone
Or if he ever whispers her name
when he’s listening with his heart and not his mind

~
If I asked- would you dance in the moonlight
or in the dust of stars with me -locked in tender embraces…
under the velvet midnight sky
as you whisper your echoing lover’s tune to my heart?

Come paint the stars with me-we’ll find our hidden passage in the sky
amongst the embers of our souls
Save the last dance for me- until we can dance no more
holding on forever with tender lover’s hearts

Sheathe my heart in silken memories
as you wrap your arms around me in lucid dreams
mingling your sweet breath with mine

Won’t you come and sit with me awhile-
as we share the vast sea of our souls?
Just come...
be with me-sharing soft midnight sighs
as the ecstasy of starry silence sleeps its slumbering melody
Wake me from my dream my love- turn your eyes to mine
silence my lips with your tender kiss

Let thy soul answer mine
as we knit our crystal ink of tears
redeeming our remembered sorrows with love and kindness

For all the rest of my years
I’ll hold you fondly and forever in my heart- in my soul
as the union of our midnight- quietly ends with the day
hastening once again to the glistening meadows...
of another golden sunset
~~~~~~
