The Innocent One- Her Last Breath

The Innocent One- Her Last Breath

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne

Hughes

She was once a starry eyed girl

slumbering in her daydreams

with eyes closed to love's harsh realities

She never imagined the oncoming storms of life

She was listening only to the desires of her heart

yielding her body and soul to those not worthy

to share the delights of her pure, innocent love

With her heart in rapt attention...

she was not accustomed to the evilness of fools

who disguised their hearts with uncaring words...

Words meant only to deceive ...

by those who meant only to weave...

their web of lies and deceit

She was stabbed in her heart

robbed of her innocence

by naive expectations...

believing she was under the protected canopy of truth…

her stepping stone to finding love

She became entangled in their web of manipulating lies

deceived by those who used the language of traitors...

their games...

 ignited by lust and deception

Her inner beauty once sealed in purity

now smothered -by man's manslaughter of her soul

The bloodshed of her once innocent beauty

the ultimate sacrifice of an innocent one

by lies that breed the bad in some men

Her journey now ended

she now lies like a sleeping child

protected by embracing darkness

like a comforting blanket around her

Now, she can let her innocence shine

letting her spirit roam safe...

Free in the Universe of Angels

Once a sweet bright light in life

Now…

In stainless death she rests

under the protection of the stars

she now sleeps in her innocence

Her last breath rests in the meadow of angels

I'm not an extraordinary woman, simply put... I'm just a normal, ordinary one. In my private life I am gingerly cautious with the people I meet, but fearless in the words I write. Not an extrove.. more..
