Anticipating The Storm

Anticipating The Storm

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne

There must be a calm hidden with the darkest storm

Albeit hidden, well concealed not wanting to compromise

As the air turns and twists beside my bed

The earth trembles as lightning surges thru’ the air ...

And strikes against my trembling breast

With no one around to help embrace the pain

I reach out for You and Your soothing, restful touch

It’s so difficult to believe…

To comprehend the ‘Why Me’ part of it all

Hunting for a respite…

A place to hide, a way to pretend

Waiting for the whirling tempest to burst upon my head

While I anticipate the lemons to be transformed into jewels

I ride the storm - trying not to wallow in tides of sadness

Feeling exiled from grace as this storm rages

I navigate this raging storm hoping to reign victorious

I sit on life’s shores…

As sorrow wells up within my soul

With my feet dangling in sweet purple hues of anticipation

I ride on the precipice of my destination - hoping to be reborn

While salty, blue tears write my story…

My every dream and hope riding on the storm…

Waiting for my refuge and the sun to rise above …

Waiting to be free as I await the world to follow
