Played Hooky From School TodayA Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnneLittle boy & his friends who played hooky from school
Played hooky from school today. Went up on the hill with Jim, Henry, Bill and the whole, darn gang Got the ol' bob sled to goin', and gosh how she sang thru the snow and down the hill...why we'd hardly begun fore' the bottom had come, and we had to walk back, but we didn't mind, cause we make track Playin' hooky today
Yup, the fellers and me played hooky today got so wet and cold we could hardly see All of a sudden a toe hurt, it had started to freeze, and it stung and it tingled clear up to my knees Playin' hooky today
After playin' hooky today, I sneaked back, and told Ma that I'd hurt myself, stepped on a tack, but, she needn't bother to look, that I'd tie it all up but gee, that toe swelled like a pizened pup, and Ma looked at me with a squint in her eye and says.. "Thomas Archibald, did you ever lie?" Opps, played hooky today!
Well after playin' hooky today, Ma looked at the toe and I guess I howled when she rubbed it with snow, She said, "Your wet shoes spelled hooky, Thomas Archibald, they have all the brands". Next time I play hooky, I'll walk on my hands. Played hooky today
