Make Believe Angel ~An Angel's Shifty Betrayal

Make Believe Angel ~An Angel's Shifty Betrayal

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne

The orange madness

Scarlet headaches

Accusing voices,  whispering falsehoods in the night,

all the ambiguities and  double-entendres of the light

Starting out in Idaho, I’ve come all the way from Nevada to here

I ask...

are there more angels out there selling out

promising things to others

or am I the only fixer upper whose siding needs repair?

My false bravado has been made public

My illusion is losing grip swallowed up by an angels neglect

Am I simply mimicking reality...

or, is this an apocalyptic, calico world

where I live in a rented room somewhere in space?

Now...

I'm  crossing Oklahoma on a leash, tethered by this angel’s map

Stop...

I’m not a sheep who follows just for the sake

I’m a lion, not a coward

So Mr. angel...

this isn’t right, what you’ve done

You obviously don’t have God’s light

so, don't give me your lip service anymore

I’m gonna' pick up my cross and run

all the way to Pismo Beach...

or somewhere

Something’s got to give

Cuz’ I refuse to give up

I’m untying your knot, you snot

I'm gonna' connect my own damn dots

Just call me ‘Ladee Lioness’ from now on..

Hee hee,  that's me

I'm not an extraordinary woman, simply put... I'm just a normal, ordinary one. In my private life I am gingerly cautious with the people I meet, but fearless in the words I write. Not an extrove.. more..
