Part 1

In a quaint small neighborhood off the beaten path was an old, beat up house. It stood alone back apiece off the side of a lonely road. It was overrun with ivy and old vines, giving it a rather ghostly appearance. It was as if it was longing for a visit from someone. No telling how long it had stood there alone and forgotten or who had even lived there. No one seemed to know much about this old house, or even care about it for that matter.
Back up the road lived a little girl named Annie Hemlock. She was 8 years old, she loved stories about fairies, elves and all the little people who lived in her fantasy land of make believe
She was a bit of a little fairy herself, a tiny little wisp of a girl, who stood barely 4 ft. tall. She had long blond hair and a very vivid imagination. Her mama told her she could make a magical story about almost anything, which she did quite frequently.
She was very whimsical, almost as if she lived in her own little world of imagination. Quite harmless in nature, because she was a very astute student in school, fascinated with learning and writing her little poems and stories. Her teacher, Ms. Wilcox always encouraged Annie to write, it seemed to be her passion and she was quite good at it for only being 8 years old.
One day while walking home from school Annie was fascinated by a little kitten making it's away across the road. Annie decided to follow it. It led her along the path to that lonely old house. She had walked by it before, but her mama had told her not to go inside.
Her curiosity got the better of her, especially when that little kitten entered the old building. Annie followed it inside. It was a little calico colored kitten. It rubbed up against her leg purring softly. Annie bent down to pet the tiny little kitty.
"Well, where do you live little kitty" she said. "Do you live here all alone, where is your mama", she said.
Kitty let her pet it for a bit, then scampered off into a doorway that was held up by an old broken door, hanging off it's hinges. All Annie could think about was that little kitten and how she would love to take it home with her so she followed it inside.
"Kitty, kitty, where are you", she whispered, but it seemed to have disappeared.
Annie decided it was best she get back on her way home, before mama came looking for her. She decided to look for it another day, perhaps tomorrow after school let out.
Anne left the trail and went back along the path towards her home, when suddenly the little kitten appeared, seemingly out of nowhere. It followed her for a bit as she walked towards home, then as suddenly as it appeared it disappeared once more.
Annie was fascinated by kitty, but knew she had to get on home. When she walked inside mama was preparing dinner. "Where have you been Annie" , mama said. "You have some little flowers stuck in your backpack. Annie couldn't tell a mis-truth so she told her mama the story about the kitty and how it had led her inside that old house. "Annie, I told you before not to go inside that old house, it might not be safe, tomorrow I'll go with you and we'll look for kitty together okay? Anne was pleased that mama would go with her. She could hardly wait for tomorrow to come to go look for kitty with mama.
That night mama read her one of her favorite fairy tales. It was about a magic box that held the key to a magical door. A door that opened the magical village to fairy land.
