Cover Me

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne

Photobucket

Stripped naked, raw to the bone

Longing to be covered in blankets

of  softly, whispered words

Words of delicate tones and honesty

that breathe their healing air

to a wounded soul in need of rest

as remembered echoes of pain

fall like raindrops upon my breast

Frozen in crimson despair

my soul, mute to the songs of love

Hope depleted, vanished from sight

A fragment of my heart

Chokes my breath

As tears say "Let go, Let go"

Staining my cheeks as they silently drop
