Sometimes You Have To Be Your Own Hero

Sometimes You Have To Be Your Own Hero

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne
"

Dedicated to my lovely daughter... Angela

"

Sometimes life seems so cold and unfair

Then the battle rages

Drama unfolds its theatrical wings

Time and time again

And the battles rages

Why did I allow such uninvited things

To slip carelessly into my driver’s seat ?

“How did I let you in”, I say

Just to bully your way through my life

Driving me to places

I really never wanted to go

Yet there you were behind the wheel

Steering me in wrong directions

Knowing I didn’t have a map

To show me where to go

So the battles rages

I resent your interference

On my highway of life

Go on now

You aren't invited to share my life

Go bully someone else other than me

Take another route

Go away ...

 I’m setting myself free

I'm the driver of my car now

 and ...

I know the direction I'm going to travel

No more running into those dead end streets

I won't miss those things I left behind

Because ...

I'm going in the right direction now!
