Incentive for the new year!

"New Year's Resolutions"

 

Have you written down missed past reflections

How about some new year’s aims of resolutions

It’s always good to hand write things down

Chances are it gives standable solid ground

 

Take this solid ground and make it real

Make the gamble of your life a seeming sound deal

Make your outcomes the results of achieving

Make your happiness the result of believing

 

God and Higher Power are always in the plan

Cuz when the chips are down they will lend their gifted hand

But when things are going great they will still be there

Watching out from behind because they really care

 

Set your problems and make them the goal

Give into yourself, give into your soul

Turn around what once was wrong

Take this year and make “Recovery” strong

 

For all of you who have a horror story

Staying clean now has won the sought-out glory

Take a breath to cherish your best friend

A best friend will stay close in heart till this year ends

Much of my writing has been for inspiration for the addictions because I am a Poetry Addiction Psychologist Specialist....my workbook is coming out this year and it has 52 poems about Recovery! This was to give my clients hope and inspiration for this year! I have 26 doing well in recovery clients. I teach them to write out their problems...sort of therapeutic writing. However, if you want to read a short poem that is my personal favorite is the first one I posted, "The Things I Write For", written for ME! But I have to tell you that writing is my life! My words always count! So do yours..you are an official AUTHOR if you belong to this website! YOu are here by choice..and therein lies the truth!
