The Magic RosesA Poem by LadyAnn68The flowers that had powersThe Magic Roses
Closed the file cabinet drawer Slung your coat jacket over your shoulder Thinking, should I stop off at Happy Hour Realize quietly…your getting older
Stopped momentarily at the street light Glanced at the young beauty sell flowers Memories of your wife many years back Bought some roses with magic powers
Tippy-toe your way to the kitchen After quietly unlocking the front door Down on her hands and knees she was Scrubbing furiously the kitchen floor
Watching with admiration Still a Goddess even gracefully with age Long pitch black hair streaming down her back Desire thunders your loins suddenly on a rampage
Turning she looks up Her eyes a wanton smoky silvery grey See the magic roses in your hand Smiling unzips your pants in foreplay
Taste of your lovemaking Was the ultimate bittersweet She is a child, a girl, a woman She is everything that makes you complete
Serves you your favorite cocktail Runs naked jumping in the pool Wavy water silhouettes her body Thanking God she is yours, you were never a fool
For a moment you ponder Coming home to her everyday Almost makes going to work Worth more than your salary pay
The satisfied color of her cheeks Matched the deep garnet of those flowers Thinking back on the "heat" of that moment Those roses indeed had magic powers
