This Could Be The Day You're DrivenA Poem by LadyAnn68at the bottom you must make the choice...life or worse than death“The Could Be The Day You’re Driven”
This could be the day you’re driven Sunk to the bottom dark abyss The only light now is above Try to think clearly you can’t be remiss Your mind saturated and scrambled You’ve lost everything you now miss Just for once face the naked truth You are an addict, there's no more bliss This could be the day you’re driven You are simply left completely alone Losing your family, losing your friends While high felt, “bad-to-the-bone” But as long as you had the next hit The bridges you’ve burned all have flown Think you are too weak to change A whole new life would have to be sewn
This could be the day you’re driven To many years of memories lost Yearn for the bright laughter of mom Wash your baby’s skin so soft Feel the sensuality of your spouse Siblings’ trust an even bigger loss Is this the day you finally realize All you sacrificed for addictions’ cost
This could be the day you’re driven To grab on to anything you can hold Your mind, your heart, your faith in spirit Try rehabilitating; try straight and bold Crack soaked tears hollow and flowing All your efforts in one moment could fold But you are at bottom, in the dark, all alone It’s make-it or break-it, black or white, hot or cold
This could be the day you’re driven Finally made the decision to try Imagining the feel of those past memories Not wanting your life a total lie Pleading for God to accept repent You want heaven, the Earth, the sky This choice to be addicted or normal Yes, means giving up your favorite high
THIS COULD BE THE DAY YOU’RE DRIVEN TO SURRENDER…TO YOUR OWN CHOSEN WILL!
