Written for a friend.

I look back and a tear stains my heart

Could it be so long ago you were there?

Can't I turn back the clock, and undo what's done?

Make the pain disappear and my regrets fade.

The image of you is burned into my soul

I can hear you in my head and feel you in my heart

If I could take it back, and make amends, I would.

I would take away all the pain you went through,

And change the things that hurt you,

And make you see that you never had to go that way.
