WasteA Poem by BevMiscarriageI had a dream last night, and I saw your face I held you tight, as your room I paced
I cried all night woken from that warm embrace
Wishing I'd been able to stay with you in that place
Foolish I was to think it real, my tears I wipe away with haste
Happiness, that dream I once had a taste
Bitter now this memory, torn apart like antique lace
I can feel myself now running an aimless race
My feet carry me though there is no base
As if suffering and pain itself does chase
Where my heart once sat is now an empty space
