A poem for sweet dreams

I wrote this when my heart weighed heavy, for my love who is so far away.

There are hundreds of miles

between us right now

and i lay awake asking how

you could ever fall asleep

 

But just one more year

and then my dear

I shall marry you.

 

For in one more year

you will be here

where my voice

can bring you dreams

 

But until that time

let this little rhyme

whisk you off to sleep.

 

Look at the skies

and search for my eyes

for i will surely be there

my life

my love

my soon to be bride

in the stars my smile hides

to bring you comforting sleep

 

sweet dreams, sleep well, goodnight my dear

and dont you shed a tear

for in just one more year

you will be here

and ill hold you while you sleep.

this is the second poem i ever wrote, ive only been writing poetry for a few weeks now so please help me get better at it
