The Finishing TouchA Poem by WhiskurzThe words that haunt her weary mind Won't let her sleep at night So she reaches for her pen and paper And silently begins to write She writes the words her muse describes But it lacks the magic potion For the words she writes cannot feel They lack the poet's emotion The words are dry as paper meets pen Until she finally feels her pain For the magic is in the poet's tears As her paper starts to stain The letters can now feel the pain That the poet has hidden inside Starting to take their rightful place When the poet broke down and cried For the ink and a piece of paper Can only do so much Then you have to have the poet's tears To get that finishing touch
